Fresh strawberry season is wrapping up here in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania which makes me sad. I’ve been driving around the back farm roads like a mad woman looking for the last of those little, green containers of bright red, sweet, juicy strawberries to make my healthy strawberry and pineapple smoothie. They seem to taste so much better with fresh berries rather than frozen!

Welcome to the first installment of the Summer Beverage Series. A few of my blogging friends and I are sharing our favorite summer drinks over the next few weeks. Be sure to read all the way to the bottom so you can see their scrumptious-looking summer drinks!

Here’s how I make my fresh and healthy Strawberry & Pineapple Protein Smoothie:

how to make healthy strawberry and pineapple protein smoothies

You will need:

  • 1 cup milk (whole, low fat, or skim)
  • protein powder
  • fresh strawberries (or frozen)
  • fresh pineapple
  • ice cubes
  • Nutri Ninja (or similar blender)

My favorite protein powder is Matrix and I use their Strawberry Cream flavor for this smoothie.

To make the smoothie, layer the ingredients in the mixing jar in the order given.

NOTE: I usually freeze the fruit before adding them to the smoothie. I find that I use fewer ice cubes if the fruit is frozen.

Blend until desired consistency is achieved. Garnish with fresh fruit if desired. Enjoy without the guilt!

This sounds delicious. I recently got into smoothies in the mornings with protein powder instead of breakfast. I will have to give this one a try. Thanks so much for joining in on this summer sippers series.

I have to admit, I’ve never tried protein powder. Does it add a noticeable flavor to a shake? Love the strawberries! And love the idea of cool refreshing beverages in our heat wave! Thanks for sharing with Fiesta Friday!

This sounds like such a refreshing and delicious smoothie! I love using fresh fruit in smoothies whenever possible, and strawberries and pineapple are a perfect combination. I can’t wait to try lose weight it with the Matrix Strawberry Cream protein powder – that sounds like it would add a great flavor boost. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Great post! I’ve recently started adding protein smoothies to my daily routine and the energy boost is real. Speaking of small lifestyle upgrades, I’ve also been exploring subtle cosmetic enhancements like the Lip Flip Los Angeles option — it’s amazing how small changes can enhance your confidence just like clean nutrition does!
