You may notice that things look a little different around here. Yes, my little blog has a fresh, new look. Kind of like a facelift, but not as painful. Well, not for me anyway. Maybe for Jeni, my fabulous (and incredibly patient) designer. Take a look around. How about that slide show at the top of the Home page? I love that!

Everything is so much more organized now – just like my craft room – is NOT! With one quick click, you can see a gallery of photos from all of the posts under each category. Just click on a photo and it will take you directly to that post. Go ahead, try it. If you click on Silhouette Machine Tutorials in the gray bar, right above that oh-so-pretty, pink lace, you’ll see all of my Silhouette projects all in one place. How awesome! That’s called “indexing” folks, yep indexing. Jeni taught me that. Indexing is a beautiful thing.

More about the Home page. I have heard that readers get tired of scrolling through posts to get to the next one. Now you can see the most recent 10 posts right on the Home page. Less scrolling is good. Right?

Let’s see. What else? Oh, the logo! I really, really, really liked my old logo. In fact, I cut it out of vinyl and stuck it on the wall above the closet in my non-indexed craft room. I have a picture of it somewhere. Oh, it’s on Instagram. I’ll try to dig it up and show you. OR, just go ahead and follow me on Instagram….that may be faster. And yes, that was a shameless ploy to get a few more Instagram followers. Back to the logo. Yes, I loved the old one, but I love the new one, too. I still have a scripty-loopy ampersand, so that makes me very happy! And what about the sketched flowers behind the logo, the ad at the top and in the “subscribe” box! Isn’t Jeni wonderful!

I’m sure, if you’re a blogger, that you know or have heard about The Blog Maven. That’s Jeni! My awesome, sweet, smart and super-talented designer. If you haven’t already, I strongly urge you to visit her site. She has lots of tips and the best video tutorials for bloggers. I just love her! As for coming up with a design for me, I hardly had to say a word. It was like she was in my head (scary in there, isn’t it Jeni!) and knew exactly the look I was going for. She absolutely nailed it! Thank you Jeni! You are the best!

I signed up for her subscription list! Even though I don’t use WordPress, I figured I could use a few tips from her.
I do my own designing for myself right now and it’s a pain in the butt. I made a deal with myself that if I got through a couple months of posts and increased followers, that I’d put some money into the thing I love so much; I want a personalized design!

    Sincerely, Dani Rose

    Hi Jeannie
I’ve been following you for a while now and love your posts, but just wanted to say the new look is amazing – very stylish. I am hopping on over to the Blog Maven right now to sign up.
