Easy Front Porch Makeover_createandbabble

I love front porches. I so wish I had one. But my daughter does and we spent the day yesterday making over her front porch. She, my son-in-law and grandson live in a cute, little fixer-upper in a quaint little college town about 45 minutes away. There is a lot of fixing up going on inside the house, so I volunteered to makeover the front porch to give them a nice, pretty place to take a break from the on-going construction inside the house.

When we pulled up to the house and unloaded all of the supplies, here is what the front porch looked like:

And because I can’t wait to show you an after photo:

What do you think? Quite a difference!

The first thing we did was power wash the entire front porch. That by itself made a huge difference. Then we moved on to the front door. It went from this:

To this:

Do you love that color as much as I do? It is “Barely Teal” from Benjamin Moore. It’s the same color that I used to make the stripes on the canvas floor cloth.

I am so happy with how this little makeover turned out.

Source list:

  • chairs from Lowe’s
  • table, cans and tray and metal butterfly are from Home Goods
  • canvas floor cloth made by me
  • fabric wreath made by me
  • house numbers from Lowe’s
  • pillows made by me
  • watering can from JoAnn’s
  • hanging flower from a roadside stand

Come back on Thursday when I’ll be sharing how I made the canvas drop cloth floor cloth and the fabric wreath.

Linking to these great parties.

So cute! I would be tempted to plunk myself down and do nothing for the rest of the day!

I love it! That light teal color on the door is one of my favorite colors.. and the flowers really make the porch stand out. It makes me wish I had a porch!

I was just thinking today how so many of the homes here in southern California don’t have porches — my home is one of them. I have l almost no space to do anything out there….yours looks beautiful! Just stopping by from the Say it Saturday Linky Party. Thanks for sharing!
