I don’t go all out decorating for Valentine’s Day. My full-time job keeps me pretty busy this time of year. (Update: I’m blogging full time now!) Last year I did make a paper medallion wreath and a scrapbook paper banner, but this year I made these cute little Valentine Burlap Treat Bags.

Burlap Valentine's Day Treat Bags to Make

The burlap bags are from Pick Your Plum that I’ve had for quite awhile. I believe you can also find them here. These bags were gathered at the top with twine. I simply removed the twine and replaced it with pink organza ribbon that I had in my over-abundant ribbon stash. I wasn’t sure how the soft pink would look with the rustic and nubby texture of the burlap bags, but I love the look.

The fabric hearts were cut with Silhouette Cameo using Silhouette’s clean cut fabric interfacing. I love that I can cut fabric with my Cameo and just iron the shapes onto my project.

UPDATE: Now that I own a Cricut Maker, it’s not necessary to add interfacing to fabric to cut it!

I found the sweet pink and white fabric at JoAnn’s.

Once the hearts were ironed onto the bags, I filled them with candy and placed the bags in a pretty footed bowl that I found at HomeGoods.

Now I have a pretty display of Valentine chocolates when friends and family stop by (that is if Dan doesn’t eat them all!)

What about you? Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?

I do decorate just a teensy weeny bit for Valentine’s Day. I love your bags. They’re rustically romantic. I didn’t know you could cut fabric, too, with your machine. I really, really want a Silhouette. I’m hoping the money I’m tucking aside for one will buy me one soon! Great job on this cute project.

Thanks Lori! I know you’ve been wanting a Silhouette. Stay tuned – there may be another special on them coming up real soon ; )

These brought a smile to my face. What’s not to LOVE? Thanks for the idea. Pinning!
