I never was one to go all out with decorating for Halloween but I do like a few pretty touches. Like these Easy Halloween Mason Jars made using Chalk Couture. As I explain here, I prefer “pretty” over “scary”. How about you?
Easy Halloween Mason Jars Made Using Chalk Couture
Here is what I used to make these easy Halloween Mason Jars:
- mason jars from the dollar store
- Halloween Fun transfer
- Grape Soda chalkology paste
- Orange Peel chalkology paste
- White chalkology paste
- battery-operated tea lights (dollar store)
- candy to fill jars
Step One
Gather supplies. Open the transfer packaging, cut transfer apart and write a “B” or “back” on the back of the transfer pieces. Peel transfer from backing sheet carefully. “Fuzz up” the back of the adhesive transfer by placing on a terrycloth towel (or your jeans) so the back isn’t quite so sticky and will be easier to remove from the glass.
Step Two
Apply transfer to mason jar. Mix Chalk paste to a “yogurt-like” consistency. Add water if necessary. Apply Chalk Paste to your transfer using a squeegee. Scrape excess paste and put back into chalk paste jar. Close Chalk paste to keep from drying out. Peel off transfer while paste is still wet and place transfer into a pan water to clean.
Step Three
Use a disinfectant wipe to clean both front and back of transfer. Allow the transfer to dry with “sticky’ side up. When the transfer is dry, place back on its backing. The transfer is now ready to be re-used again and again.
I love the combination of orange and purple!
There are so many things to use to fill the mason jars. I used Halloween candy.
And I even added a battery-powered tea light to the one with candy corn.
I found chalkboard mason jar lids that fit perfectly so I chalked them too!
How cute!
