Well. That year sure went by fast. It feels like I was just writing about the top ten projects of 2016 and here we are already. I am always surprised when I look at the analytics and see which posts were the most popular. Maybe because I have forgotten about some of them! Without further ado, here the top ten projects of 2017 from Create & Babble:

Top 10 Posts of 2017

#10 How to Make a Microwaveable Bowl Cozy

This is actually one of my favorite projects and I plan on making a lot more of these bowl cozies! They are so practical and they make wonderful gifts, too.

#9 How to Build a Rolling Cart

This DIY Rolling Cart was made to hold my heat press. It also had to have a place to store vinyl and tee shirts. I love how it turned out. (See it finished and in place in my craft room here.)

#8 Pumpkins Made from upcycled Thrift Store Clothing

It’s been four years since I first made velvet pumpkins. I told you then that my secret to successfully making them is dental floss. When I made those pumpkins I bought the “velvet” fabric from eBay but I’ve since found a much cheaper source for velvet-like fabric: Thrift Stores! Yes, thrift stores often have a large selection of ladies long dresses and pantsuits made from velour which feels and looks a lot like velvet.

#7 How to Make a Birdhouse from an old Shutter

This is another one of my favorites. I cut an old thrift store shutter in half and made it into a birdhouse. I painted it red and used it for my Christmas decor!

#6 DIY Entryway Bench

This is one of those DIY projects that I made to fit the space I have. Doing it yourself means that you don’t have to settle for “good enough”. Our spaces are all different and a lot times “pre-made” just won’t work! I made this bench to fit my space and I hope the future owners of my house love it too ’cause it’s built-in!

My “backyard” area was in desperate of a makeover. You gotta see the before and after photos of this space! It’s quite a transformation.

#4 Rae Dunn-inspired Christmas Ornaments

Considering the popularity of this line of ceramics, this is not a surprise!

#2 Learn Cricut Print Then Cut in Three Easy Steps

I’m still learning my way around my Cricut Explore Air 2 and Cricut Design Space. I’ve found it to be way easier to use than “that other machine”. And I’ve got this Print then Cut figured out and want to show you!

#2 How and Why to Use Cricut Stencil Vinyl

Cricut® Stencil Vinyl is my new favorite product to use to make a stencil. In this post, I show you how to use it and why to use it.

And the NUMBER ONE most viewed post:

How to clean window tracks!

Not very glamorous or sexy but certainly helpful! It seems a lot of you had dirt window tracks, too ; ) Or you just wanted to see mine!

easily clean window tracks

Okay. I can’t end with that disgusting image.

DIY L-shaped window seat with storage

Let’s end with a photos of MY favorite projects from 2017. The window seat pictured above.

Master Bedroom Decorated for Christmas

My other favorite: the Farmhouse Bed that I built.

Thank you for being a reader of Create & Babble and following along with my DIY, crafting, and life adventures!

Now I invite you to take a look at my blogging besties Top Posts too. Here is Maureen’s year in review at Red Cottage Chronicles. Gail’s most popular projects can be found at My Repurposed Life.  Debbie is sharing her top Farmhouse Projects at Refresh Restyle.

Thank you for the article, Jeanie!
I especially like the idea of making a microwaveable bowl cozy. The truth is I’ve never even heard of something like that but it does make sense! And it really could be a great gift.
How did you think about it?
